It’s hard to believe that it’s already been over a week since The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Show, and at Clece Care Services (CCS), we are still buzzing with the wealth of knowledge and inspiration we gained from this incredible event. As a leading UK care provider, our mission is to deliver top-quality, personalised care in the community and support our service users in their own homes. Attending this show not only enriched our understanding but also provided valuable resources to enhance our dementia care services.
One of the standout moments for our team was participating in the Virtual Dementia Tour. This immersive experience was both eye-opening and humbling, giving us profound insights into the daily challenges faced by those living with dementia. Walking in their shoes, even for a brief period, reinforced our commitment to providing empathetic, informed care. The tour underscored the importance of patience, understanding, and innovative care approaches, all of which are core to our values at CCS.
Another highlight of the show was exploring the therapy immersive igloos. These innovative spaces offer a unique method for therapeutic stimulation and relaxation, crucial for individuals with dementia. The igloos use a combination of sensory inputs—visual, auditory, and tactile—to create a calming environment that can significantly enhance the well-being of those with dementia. Integrating such pioneering methods into our care practices is a testament to our dedication to continuous improvement and responsiveness to the latest in dementia care.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the exhibitors and expert speakers who shared their invaluable knowledge and expertise. Tim Baverstock from Alzheimer’s Society, Prof. Martin Green from Care England, Amanda Partington-Todd from Care Quality Commission, Kirsty O’Connor from Seating Matters, Sheridan Coker from Dementia UK, Peter Morris from Lockabox®, Sophie Tucker from Alzheimer’s Society, and Trevor Nell from OM Interactive LTD—each of you contributed immensely to the richness of this event. Your insights and innovations are helping us shape a better future for those living with dementia.
At Clece Care Services, we believe in the importance of training, development, and outreach to engage with both internal and external stakeholders. The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Show was a perfect platform for this, providing our team with the opportunity to learn, network, and grow. We are passionate and committed to our goal of providing the highest quality care service in the United Kingdom, and events like these are pivotal in achieving that mission.
As we reflect on the past week, we are determined to implement the knowledge and techniques we have acquired. The journey of improving dementia care is ongoing, and we are excited to continue this journey with the insights and innovations we have gathered. Thank you once again to everyone who made The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Show such a noteworthy event. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those living with dementia.
