Mental health is just as crucial as physical health. It’s why we’re thrilled to unveil our latest initiative, “Support Starts Here.” This new campaign underscores our unwavering commitment to the well-being of both our community and our dedicated staff. As a highlight of this initiative, we are proud to announce that every office within the CCS group will now have dedicated Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAs).
Mental Health Matters
In the realm of home care services, the dedication and compassion of care workers are paramount to ensuring the well-being of those they support. We recognise the incredible commitment our care workers bring to their roles, often going above and beyond to provide high-quality, tailored care to service users in their own homes. However, amidst the daily routines and responsibilities, it’s crucial for care workers to also focus on their own mental health and well-being.
CCS’ Mental Health First Aiders
Mental Health First Aiders are pivotal in providing immediate and empathetic support to our employees during challenging times. We had the opportunity to sit down with one of our devoted MHFAs, Monica, to delve deeper into this vital role. Monica explains,
“Mental Health First Aiders support employees primarily during emergencies, such as witnessing a service user pass away or experiencing a traumatic event. We provide professional support and a friendly shoulder to cry on when things don’t go as expected. As MHFAs, we offer a safe place to listen without judgment and routinely reach out to employees we know are struggling to check on them and determine how we can support them. All of our MHFAs are trained and certified to ensure we can offer practical support.”
Continued Action To Improve Mental Health
This initiative is just one of the many ways Clece Care Services continues to demonstrate our dedication to the highest quality care. We encourage ongoing training, development, and community outreach to engage with both internal and external stakeholders. Our passion and commitment drive us to create a supportive environment where everyone can thrive. Join us in our campaign this August and remember, #SupportStartsHere.
