With a staggering 82% of our adult social care workforce being females, their unwavering dedication, enthusiasm, and expertise not only inspire us daily but also illuminate the path we tread together. While we celebrate their incredible contributions each day, International Women’s Day offers us a special opportunity to elevate our appreciation and recognition of their efforts. However, we also recognize the challenges that persist within our industry and beyond. In the UK, women are underrepresented in managerial roles, holding 79% of these positions, and even more so in senior management at 68%, despite comprising 83% of direct care-providing roles.
