Clece Care Services‘s ‘Behind the Care’ campaign spotlights the often-unrecognised team members who play vital roles in supporting our operations. Throughout September, we will introduce the marketing, recruitment, finance, bids and HR teams – showcasing their contributions to the company’s mission. We will find out more about how their work enables our frontline teams to deliver an outstanding service.
The CCS Bids team work across the UK and are integral to the growth of CCS. We sat down with the Senior Bid Manager Phoebe to find out more about the tremendous impact they have on the CCS group.
CCS: “Who are the bids team?”
Phoebe: “You will almost certainly have seen a representative of the bids team on a call recently, whether that’s a live tender opportunity kick off or a social value training session. The team is led by Emma (Group Bid Director), with group-level support from Zsu (Bid Support Manager), Phoebe (Senior Bid Manager) and Jamie (Bid Manager).
Regional Bid Managers include Bev (Scotland), Carl (North East), Shelley (North West) and Antony (Midlands/London), who work closely with operations in their ‘patch’ to make sure we have the local know how to make our tenders stand out.”
CCS: “What do the bids team do?”
Phoebe: “In simple terms, our team is responsible for managing the competitive process that ensures we retain our existing contracts and win new ones, so that the business continues to grow sustainably.
This involves proving our ability to deliver the service (e.g. CQC registration, staffing structure, mobilisation plans), and writing method statements explaining why we are the best company to do it.
More poetically, this means that we are often found lurking in calls listening in to what is going well around the business to capture case studies and evidence of all the hard work that is going on in our services.
We also get involved in broader projects that need us to prove why CCS operations are the best, such as the prestigious LaingBuisson awards, and we support on market research and wider business development activities.”
CCS: “Can you share some recent successes for the bids team?”
Phoebe: “Our recent successes include winning contracts in Stockton, Norfolk and Perth & Kinross, which have been fruitful (in part) thanks to the great engagement from our operations teams, and evidence of the amazing care work being done around the UK.
We are always waiting for outcome letters and hope to be in touch about tender wins in your area soon.”
