Touchdown in Glasgow: CCS Visit the Care Roadshow

It is with this spirit of dedication and a commitment to continuous improvement that Team CCS recently had the privilege of participating in the Care Roadshows’ Future of Care Leaders Conference held in Glasgow. This event not only offered us an invaluable opportunity to hear from a spectrum of expert leaders in the health and social care sector but also provided a platform to network with industry pioneers across Scotland. The conference was a remarkable celebration of our industry, bringing together like minds to deliberate on key issues influencing the care we provide to our communities across the United Kingdom
The agenda was packed with insightful seminars, each addressing pivotal topics aimed at enhancing the quality of care and preparing for the future. Among these, the ‘Future-Ready Workforces’ seminar stood out, featuring an impressive lineup of speakers including Donald Macaskill from Scottish Care, Diane Tinline from HRM Homecare Services Ltd, Matthew Bond from Borderless, and Maxine Smedley from HC-One. Their discussion illuminated the path toward building resilient, skilled workforces capable of meeting the evolving needs of our communities. Equally compelling was Donald Macaskill’s talk on ‘Do We Need A Social Care Revolution?’, which sparked critical conversations about the transformative approaches needed to advance social care and really energised the room.
The focus on specialised care was evident in the ‘Dementia Care Excellence’ seminar, where experts like Anna Houston from HRM Homecare Services Ltd, along with Gayle Henry, Jennifer Hall from Alzheimer Scotland, Helen Jones, and Fiona Catterson, shared their profound insights. This session underscored the importance of compassionate, expert care for individuals living with dementia, highlighting innovative practices and the significance of community support. Moreover, the ‘Continuous Professional Learning is Changing’ seminar led by Kristina Robb and Jane Powell from the Scottish Social Services Council provided enlightening perspectives on the evolution of professional development in social services, emphasizing the critical role of continuous learning in elevating care standards.
